Why the Jamaican Petrel?

The Jamaican Petrel is a possibly extinct, endemic seabird of Jamaica and the perfect species to bring you information on endemic, native and invasive species of Jamaica.

You see, the Jamaican Petrel was last seen in the 1900s and is not very well known. There are even more Jamaican species we know even less about like the Jamaican Rice Rat.

That is why this website is dedicated to collecting and sharing information on Jamaican plant and animal species.
